OUR MISSION – One World Center is a non-profit research organization with a mission to inspire and empower ordinary people to take action against worldwide poverty and climate change. We address the issues of our time with unique teaching and learning environments that cultivate social change and support our global vision: a sustainable future.
OUR VALUES – The Spirit Of Togetherness: One World Center is a place that unites people with a similar desire in their hearts—to bring positive change to the World. We firmly believe that in everything we do, the end result is better when we do it together. We embrace our common humanity and all the little things that make us unique. Everyone has something to give and bring to the team, and the World. Becoming a humanitarian volunteer for One World Center is just one vital way to achieve these goals.
Holistic Learning Environment: We believe that there is great potential in all of us just waiting to be unlocked. In order to develop the world and bring about positive change, we must first develop ourselves and our capacity. We have created One World Center as an environment where theory and practice go hand-in-hand. When we lay a foundation of knowledge and understanding, the path of appropriate action is clear. We know that we learn the most when we get our hands dirty and step outside of our comfort zones. It is important that we never hoard knowledge for our own use—it must be shared with the World.
Step By Step, We Create Positive Change: We believe that we are NEVER in a position to tell others what to do or impose our beliefs and our way of doing things on them. Our job is not to create change FOR someone, but to create change WITH someone. This is why One World Center promotes a culture of Working Together, Shoulder to Shoulder. We stand together with the communities that we work with and do our best to assist the process of change they desire in their world. Positive change only happens when we work together and have an exchange of ideas.
Sustainability, Planet Protection, and Resilience: At One World Center, we believe that we are part of the Planet and not the rulers of it. It is important to protect our planet and the resources within it, and mitigate the effects of human destruction. We try to find sustainable ways to live and adapt to the world around us. We know that sometimes the greatest change starts with ourselves. When we put an emphasis on both our physical and mental well-being, we are able to live well. If we are at our best, we channel that positive energy back into the world.
